After I typed up yesterday's blog post sitting in the glorious sunshine it was time to head down to lunch with my grandparents and their friends. It was a lovely drive down the mountain, with lemon trees and deep valleys to photograph. It's bloody hard to take a good picture in a moving car though....
We went to a restaurant called 'Petrol' where we dined on prawns and duck rice all washed down with some Sangria. I don't like red wine but I DO like Sangria! Lunch lasted about 3 hours which is the Portuguese way and it was lovely just to sit, chat and eat.
Heading back to the Villa we all jumped in the pool as it was getting rather warm and it was nice to spend an hour or so playing pool games against my Brother and his girlfriend. I think we definitely won at Pool Volleyball. I stopped to try and take those arty pool shoots but just felt a bit ridiculous and couldn't stop laughing. Clearly not made to be a model.
We spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the sun and reading before grabbing some dinner and more Sangria and drinking well into the night.
Sometimes you just need a day of not doing anything, and it was nice to recharge!
